Shrine in La Colline éclairée at Vajra's

      Thank you for your request.

Here is the shrine in our living-room ‘shrine-room’, gather-room ….

I begin the day with exercices , amongst which prostrations, some yoga, etc…. this for 40 minutes, there after, Daniël – my parter – and I have 20 minutes of silent meditation together, for me this means silent nembutsu + prayers for the ill, the sick, the family and friends, the sangha and for mother earth. Before every meal we have our prayers and after the meals I do regularly walking  nembutsu outside in the garden or inside around the Buddha.

      This is my/our daily practice.

Very grateful to be able to have those good rituals as foundation of our day and our live! Very grateful to be member of Amida Shu and to have met a wise and compassionate teacher. Namo Amida Bu

Thank you Satya for all the Dharma-work you are doing for us, for ours children, for all the animals, for the trees, for the flowers, for every living being on this beautiful earth that is so badly-treated. Sometimes I feel an overwhelming gratitude for all those people who work so hard to – despairing (I guess) – do something to bring some improve before it is al to late.

      With much respect, deep bow,

Namo Amida Bu, deep bow to all.

On the weekend off 15-16 June, we had an Amida Purelandmeeting with 4 off us, very intimate and deep sharings because of the little group we where. That was good.

We did some lovely practice in the garden with nembutsu and offering of flowers to the Buddha. We did have sharings, had some more insight into the “Summary of faith and Practice” and each of us could tell something more about something in this text that speaks to him/her.

We did have also a good time together in friendship, Daniël furnished us of good food and drinks. It was again very good to be togehter, so very grateful for Amida and this lovely sangha, and for our teacher Dharmavidya, Namo Amida Bu

So happy, in 10 days our sangha comes together. We will be 8: Susthama, Annetta, Maïtrisimha, Floor, Tom, Diederik, Annemie and myself. As we all live rather far away from each other it is a challenge and a great joy to be able to meet.

The theme of the day is: narratives and stories that we grow up with, both the political ones and spiritual ones, and then thinking about how our own stories fit within a bigger one. So we will look at Amida’s story and how our stories fit in with it or not . Or we could look at Shakyamuni Buddha’s story as well.

As usual we shall have public evening-service on Saturday-evening 8 pm and public morning-service on Sunday morning 8 am.

If you are in the area: don’t hesitate to come over!

In short : for me numbers 2 en 3 make the most sense in the way I express the Nembutsu. I very much have the feeling that Amida comes more and more in my heart and life when I focus my attention on the expression outward and inward of his name. In difficult times I call out for help. Thank you to give us courage by the helpful words : “We can make faltering steps in the holy life and trust that whatever sincerity there may be in our hearts will not be fruitless.”

Thank you to point this out so clearly Dharmavidya. yes, I think self-humility is, in where I am with my lack of insight; lack of power to overcome karma-issues, negative emotions and thoughts; lack of power to overcome greedy actions and so much more of favorite actions, the best I can do faced with all of this  is stand in awe with open hands and hearth. This morning as Daniël – my partner – was away very early bringing his grandchildren to school – I felt more ease at chanting out loud in stead of silent nembutsu. Yes, I too did like Dharmavidya’s talk about silent nembutsu combinated with breathing in and out. My mind is most of the time very much distracted and this combination of nembutsu and breathing can help me. Most of the time I’m thinking about how lucky we are to know and be loved by Amida, how wise and fool of love he is, how grateful I am, thinking about the sangha and others who are chanting at the same moment, the golden chain, people all over the universe and in former ages who where chanting, thinking about the Pureland and his qualities, asking help and saying tank you, longing, praying, what a bombu I am and how happy we are to know the Buddha as a foo. Now I will try to be more with every word and with the air coming in and out of my body and lungs, I feel this brings hapiness in my hearth. Namo Amida Bu

Looks very nice!!! It looks more like a circle with the Buddha’s in between. With the priest in the middle off the room ? It is as we too could better communicate with the Buddha’s in this way … being together, sharing the temple together, grateful for the grace that we recieve, Namo Amida Bu
