  • Hi Ken. Thank you very much, I’m really honoured by your words! Gassho

  • “it is vital to remain aware of one’s own frailty and limitations”: a beautiful,  very deep teaching in plain, simple words. Thank you.

  • Ken, now I’m finally able to listen your music with my laptop! Very nice, rockin’ psychobilly! And I really like the bass sound!!

  • Hi Ken

    that’s cool. Mine’s is   https://www.facebook.com/skydogspowerblues/

    Hope you like it 🙂

  • Hi Ken, it could be a cool title for a book “do nembutsu, be a better bass player”!

I agree: it’s a matter of practice – and again, it clashes with my idleness 🙂   Altough I love to play the bass, I do not practice much at home. My main goal is to play what the band needs, building a strong wall of sound together with the drummer. Besides t…[Read more]

  • Hi Ken, that’s cool! I mean, I never played a fretless and, honestly, I don’t think I would be able to. I’m also sorry for your back pain, hope you’ll be better soon.

Well, I consider myself more of a “rough” player. I am really into those old style, heavy sounds of players like Felix Pappalardi from Mountain, for example. I play in a power-blues…[Read more]

  • Hi everybody,

    Hi Adamo,

how are you doing? First of all,  than you for your kind words. As I wrote to Satya, my transalations are far from being perfect, but it’s a beginning…well, I guess we can open up a space in this online community with the italian translations of the texts. Here we got the writers and the priests, it’s the better place in my humble…[Read more]

    Hi,
how are you doing? I’ve tried to send this as a private message to Satya and Adamo, but of course I have failed 🙂

At the moment, I’ve transalted the summary of faith and a chapter from ”just as you are”. I can post them on these pages, of course
I was thinking if Adamo would like to create and manage the fb italian group. I can do some other…[Read more]

Of course, I will email the translation as soon as possibile. I’ve translated also the chapter “A first taste of Pureland Buddhism” from the book “Just as you are”. I just have to check them both better (I am a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to writing 🙂 ).

    Hi Satya and Adamo,
I can post it somewhere here (Satya please let me know where it fits better). I hope I haven’t made too many translation mistakes 🙂 Well, we could talk on skype, but I have to tell you that my spoken english is not so flowing 🙂
By the way, how about trying to start a facebook page in italian? Of course, it would be wonderful…[Read more]

    Hi Vittorio,
thank you very much, and greetings to you too. Yes, it would be a great idea to set up an Italian Sangha: as you wrote, we could start online, with the patronage of Friends of Amida and/or the Amida Trust (Satya, it is possible?).

Yes Satya, it was me. Well, at the moment I’ve translated the summary of Faith & Practice from the Nien Fo book: it’s not very much, but it’s a beginning 🙂
Well, I’ll surely let you know, because I don’t even know how to start it. I mean, given the fact that we italian members of this community are spread all along the Country, I guess that an…[Read more]

I’m wondering about starting a page for translations… If you’d like a Skype sometime to talk about the possibility of starting a group, just let me know – satya@satyarobyn.com. You could ask for support from other teachers – they may be preoccupied with their own groups, but maybe not! They…[Read more]

    Welcome Adamo,
I guess we are already in contact on Facebook 🙂
Well, Satya, maybe we’ll be able to enstablish an Italian sangha (maybe a virtual one, because it seems we’re spread all along Italy 🙂 )

    • You are! If you need any support in doing that, do let us know! Was it you who was thinking of doing some translating?

      • Yes Satya, it was me. Well, at the moment I’ve translated the summary of Faith & Practice from the Nien Fo book: it’s not very much, but it’s a beginning 🙂

  • Hi everybody,

I’m starting this topic after a chapter in the book “Just as you are – Buddhism fo foolish beings” triggered a reflection over my favourite compulsions. In this chapter, Satya wrote about her favourite compulsions in order to overcome bad feelings, stress and anxiety, and then asked the reader about his/her favourite ones. Mine?…[Read more]

  • Hi Jeaunice,

thank you very much, I’m glad that this discussion helps. I started it because I’m very weak in matter of anger and stress management – expecially if the two factors are combined. Also, to be honest, I find all of this “mindfulness calming exercises” to be a misinterpretation of Buddhism: it seems to be a placebo, just a pill against…[Read more]

  • Hi Satya,

thank you again for the online service. Yes, there are a lot of things to translate. Next week I will be on vacation, and I hope that I will find some time to start with a little text…I’ll surely let you know 🙂 As I wrote above, I was thinking about opening a facebook page and/or a blog, in Italian language. At least, it will be a…[Read more]

  • Hi Kaspa,

yes, I was at the Facebook live service last night: it has been great. I felt very comfortable, more comfortable than I was at many meetings I went, maybe because the nembutsu practice is very natural.

Well, I have considered the option of starting a home group, but I dont know many people that could be interested in buddhism…anyway,…[Read more]

  • Hello Acharya,

thank you for your kind answer. I really appreciate your suggestings and, if possible, I will join the online nembutsu practice tomorrow.

My point is that, besides all the wonderful support coming from the virtual temple, I sometimes need to meet up with people to develop my practice. As I wrote above, I’ve met with several…[Read more]
