Along with spontaneously reciting nembutsu throughout the day as the spirit moves me so to speak I also use my 108 bead mala 3 times a day in the morning midday and evening. Sometimes 3 times at once when motivated. I try not to just recite in a mechanical way but with gratitude and thankfulness in my heart. I know one pureland tradition likes to count what often can be a lot of nembutsu while another does not keep count. I suppose I am combining both traditions in my practice. But it seems to keep my mind on Amida Buddha through the day and keeps me from getting lazy. Any thoughts or comments?
