Tell all the truth but tell it slant —

    Success in Circuit lies

Too bright for our infirm Delight

    The Truth’s superb surprise

As Lightning to the Children eased

    With explanation kind

    The Truth must dazzle gradually

Or every man be blind —

    by Emily Dickinson

I saw this poem and thought of how we speak and live the dharma, as much as how Emily Dickinson writes poems. We can’t look straight on at the Ultimate Truth, it will blind us, but if we squint, or look it askance then we may be able to catch a glimpse of something bright. And Success in Circuits lies, we have to return to this practice of looking again and again.
