In the seventeenth Vow, I listen, silently, To all the Buddhas, Singing the silent, multitudinous Name. In the eighteenth Vow, I join in with their song. Some say faith can only be blind And mortal ears can only hear The formulations in the scriptures – But all mortal beings Have outer and inner ears, And the heart can hear More than syllables alone. I’m writing lots of hymns about the Nembutsu at the moment as I feel my way, anew, into its depths. Namo Amida Bu! Author Posts You must be logged in to reply to this topic.
