      December Dharma Talk

This is not my regular Dharma talk, as this month, I was at the Amida Shu Bodhi Retreat at Amida Mandala Temple in Great Malvern. This talk is made of 4 hymns which I made in succession and which form the basis of the vows I made at my ordination at the temple at the end of the retreat.

Everything becomes damaged or broken, eventually –

It is the Call! – To and from Amida – It is the Holy Name.

He breaths through the damaged and broken, and lives through them –

      Namo Amida Bu.

Breathing in and out – A hymn to Amida – Living His life through broken beings – Mind and body fall away – Namo Amida Bu.

The breath and the voice both lead to the heart; Both reveal a presence, deep within.

It is the Name, Signifier of Amida’s presence –

      Namo Amida Bu.

With each injury; With each break, May I soften, And include more and more in Amida’s Name; in Amida’s Call.

      Namo Amida Bu.
