Monday Nembutsu for me today will be ten minutes chanting on my way home from work. So if you live in Birmingham and see a man in s green mini talking to himself as he drives at around 5.30pm that will be me.
What will your Monday Nembutsu be today?

As part of the vow 22 course I have had to research the My Socialism document by Tekagi Kenmyo.
Anyone who practices Pure Land Buddhism and Nembutsu should read the document.

Attended a retreat last weekend at a Theravada vihara. The meditation was relaxed but quite difficult at six hours a day. At the end the head monk took photos and thanked us for attending. He looked genuinely happy to have had us there.
Such a welcome break from what can be a pressured world. Must try to meditate more often, but find it hard to…[Read more] -

Had my North Birmingham home group today. My family members that I thought may be here were unable to attend so it was an isolated group with just me.
I went to a retreat at the local vihara first and then to my flat. I performed a basic service and later will listen to a Dharmavidya lecture on my vow22 course. Back to the vihara at 9am for the…[Read more] -

Time for me to launch the Birmingham North home group again. Feeling inspired by Andrew C. I also feel I need to get on as I miss the experience of the Amida service.
I will hold a meeting this Sunday at my home and will look to rent a room at a local Methodist church. Just one hour to start and see how I’m guided. -

No Satya I won’t get it back as the insurance company have already paid out. Does however make me wonder why someone would consider this to be a reasonable action. Not from a vindictive angle but really of concern for our communities.

The police contacted me last night to inform me that my stolen car had been found. The window that had been broken in order to steal the car had been replaced and false number plates put on. Did make me wonder about the person and the life they lead.

Ah, glad it’s been found – does that mean you get it back?? Yes, if stealing a car feels like a good idea, chances are it doesn’t feel like there are many healthy options around… Namo Amida Bu. Good to see you here Andrew.

As I live in a flat now I don’t need to worry about gardening. That said I have always found that it relaxes me. I tend to get absorbed by the practice and become quite tranquil as I dig and tidy up flower beds. It’s also nice to look out at all the work you’ve done and how beautiful your tidy garden looks.

Monday Nembutsu this week is travelling on public transport. Strange I know but grateful for all the things and people I never notice in a car.
